Bamboo Floors
Bamboo is an excellent alternative to hardwood or other durable surface products. Because grasses grow more quickly than trees, these materials are often considered more renewable than wood-based floors. However, for true eco-friendly floors, be sure to look for natural grass materials that are manufactured without the use of added formaldehyde or harmful chemical finishes.
Why Choose Bamboo?
Naturally moisture and rot-resistant, The Strand Woven version is highly wear-resistant, easy to clean, and can be refinished for long-lasting floors. Available in a range of colors, widths, and finishes. Bamboo is equally suitable for residential and commercial applications and can also be installed easily over existing sub-floors.
Bamboo is manufactured in several styles. The most common these days is Strand Woven planks in both solid and engineered laminated planks. Traditional bamboo either horizontal or vertical grain orientations are still available although they tend to be softer, which means they dent and scratch easier. Strand woven bamboo is made from shredded bamboo fibers, pressed together with a chemical binder, resulting in an entirely different appearance and a very durable surface. Engineered bamboo, like engineered hardwood, consists of a bamboo veneer applied over a core or substrate, resulting in a strong and resilient product that can be installed virtually anywhere.
